Blue Skies coming my way....

Talk about perfect, yesterday was a glorious day, perfect in everyway..
My dh is home this week and we are doing much needed spring clean up around our
New England homestead…

(my road)

I live in a small one traffic light town.
The population is about 4000 it has almost double since
we built our saltbox home more then 20 years ago..

This picture is for Penny of lavenderhillstudio.… she posted about how she had
woods all around her house. I left her a comment and told her I had so much lawn that I nicknamed my
dh Forest Gump… This is just the west side…of our house

Look at that sky...
More lawn and then my donkey pen..
As I said the town keeps growing the land beyond the
the tall tree in the picture has just been approved
for 39 homes...
All the homes will be on 4 acres or more but still it's time for me to

Here are my four brown miniature donkeys. Monica, Sicily, Sassy and Marty..
as well as my son and his dog... Reebok....
Most people believe the donkey to be stupid and stubborn..
They are stubborn because they are smart..

Here is my spotted jack Spooky..

He is still shedding his winter coat..
He is trained to stay in our yard , come when I call, will return to his pen on his own when it's time to
to be locked in for the night...
We had a mailman that often said that he was better behaved then a lot of the children on his route...
Well I guess it's time for me to go back to work...
it's another wonderful day..

We all have dreams what are yours?
I dream of Paris..
or maybe London...
with kids in college it will be awhile..

When I was younger I used to dream of babies,
It took me a long time but I full filled that dream....
I use to dream of building a saltbox house; we did it

now I dream of a small cottage..
I am content with my life
and happy to be here..

Still I love to dream
I know some will be and some will not
My father use to say it was the artist in me
My mother said it was the girl still inside of me
My husband says it is the romantic me

“Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.”

Lao Tzu

"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream

really do come true"

Lyman Frank Baum

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.”

Busy Bee In May

May has always been my busy month…
I have two lists of things to be done and places to go,
this is my fun list…
I like to have a list with just the fun things on it,
for me it’s a reminder that life sometimes balances out.
And I am happy to say this month is the one month that
My fun list is longer…. Yeah

Daughter’s birthday

Allie is 22 now, she was just 2 in this picture, where did the years go..
we adopted her from Korea when our oldest daughter was 15 years old.

One of the best decision I ever made.

Grandparent’s Day at school
Granddaughters Dance recital..
Flowers…. two bouquets of ballerina pink roses.

Grandson’s kindergarten spring concert
He is so cute!!!!

Children’s choir performance
This is one of my favorite
activities of the year.
This year my 8-year-old granddaughter did a solo
She sang Neverland from peter pan…
Bravo Emma

Finish project and get it off in the mail
I will talk more about this one later..

Granddaughter’s Princess Birthday
25 party favors (I love doing grand kids party favors)
There was 22 three and four year old's at this party
(My daughter Willow is the kind of mom that just will not leave anyone out)
Princess castle cake
Pick up balloons (I supply the balloons for the parties as well, did you know that
Balloons are fairy kisses….)

Nephew’s Law school Graduation on
Mother’s day
Then off to meet my kids at my son's college
for mother’s day dinner..
We invited some of my son’s friends, it was a fun evening.
Many laughs

Left on list:

Granddaughter’s family party
wrap Gifts

Husband's birthday
Movie and dinner

Ang’s college graduation
Send gift …
She is my Barbie girl
I will have to do something fun here….

Graduation party
I always give money as a graduation gift.
Therefore , I am always looking for a clever way to present it,
This year what I have done is buy a solid glass desk frame
and place the check where the picture would go…I put a
Piece of pretty paper behind the check

My birthday
Oh my! I must start taking this one off my May list
Maybe I will stop aging…
This year my husband is taking me shopping for a new camera
Any suggestion?

College Graduation party
another frame???

Fairy Kisses

Balloons are fairy kisses so they say.
I've bought some and I'm sending them today
Sending them by Dobbin true.
In the hope they'll all reach you,
But as we had but little money
We could only buy a few!

Time marker

These past few days I have woken up to the lovely blooms of this flowering tree outside my bedroom window. My hubby will open the curtains in the morning so it is the first thing I see.
It is with this tree that I mark my year, not by birthdays or New Years. I will spend an extra few minutes in my cozy bed and gaze out at my pink blooms of time.
I reflect on the good and bad… youngest off to college ( we planted this tree when I was pregnant with him, my daughter totaled two cars in three months, the second just two weeks ago (now we worry more) feeling very grateful that she wasn't hurt. I started a blog, I have been more creative and doing more art than I have in years…… and as the blooms fade away I will make a list of hopes and dreams……….and look forward to the coming year.

A May Day Basket for you...

Happy May Day !

"That spring it was set to rights unusually early, several women installed as housekeeper, cook, and nurses, and when the May days grew bright and warm, squads of pale children came to toddle in the grass, run over the rocks, and play upon the smooth sands of the beach."

from Rose in Bloom
