Favorite things....

I wear mostly vintage jewelry, I always have,

my love for vintage and antique jewelry stated over 30 years

ago when my MIL gave me a few of her mother's

necklaces that dated from around 1900..

Here are just a few of my favorite pieces.

These cameos my mom got
at a tag sale in the 70's for 10 cent each.

She was always able to find exceptional stuff at tag sales.
she gave them to me as a gift in 1991,
I was one happy girl that day.

I display the cameos on top of a pile of old buttons

placed in an opal hob knob vase...

I don't like to hide favorite pieces away.

A necklace from my husband grandmother from the early 1900's

A Persian turquoise pin from the late 1800's .

The beads are Navajo Pearls from 1942...

I wear both of these a lot...the pin looks great on a jean jacket.

I love this silver heart charm

bracelet that my husband gave to me for our 26th wedding anniversary.

we just celebrated our 37th last Wednesday, wow does time fly when your

having fun...

Junque in my Trunk Swap

Update: Deena received her package today 4/16/08
I truly enjoyed every step of this gathering of junque, I want to thank Heather for hosting this fantastic swap..

The theme was birds, the main colors brown and blue, Deena's favorite things and colors….
Inside of the box, vintage lace, keys, paper , pen nibs, game tokens and ribbon.

One thing that I put in and did't take a picture of was a tiny angel that was my mom's.

she had over 400 angels in her collections, I kept just a few.

Faerie Window Is having a favorite MY DOLL DAY...

Which doll to choose, I have so many that are favorites.

After much thought I decided to show case MY LITTLE PRINCESS a doll by Wendy Lawton.

She is 9 inch high, dressed in silk, she has a porcelain head and wooden jointed body.

I love trunk type dolls, like the French fashion dolls of the 1800, so many of my dolls have a wardrobe and an assortment of things. IN fact, I think I have dolls that have more clothes then I do. For this doll I collected the items as if she was a little girl’s doll, not only do I have items for the doll ,but also things that a little girl would have treasured and put in the cabinet with her cherished doll.

The doll has several dresses some made of silk, shoes, long stockings, an enameled rose pin, party favors, tiny dolls and a wool rabbit on wheels. Everything that a Little Princess would need
And I am always looking for more…

The little girl’s things include a vintage roll of French rose ribbon(behind cup), papa’s pearl stud buttons, momma’s lace hankie, a silk painted button and a treasured pink rose child’s cup and saucer, as well as an enameled necklace and vintage calling cards…

The little princess is a Keeper of family treasure ….

Many of the items belonged to family members, the pearl stud button were my husband's great grandfather, and the cup and sauce was my mother's, the little wool rabbit was gotten when my first granddaughter was born..
