Time.....

I have been cleaning out some old magazines and came across this Better Homes and Garden, 100's of Needlework & Craft Ideas spring 1980..

I loved this apron and planned on making it but somehow 28 years flew by.....

and it never got done..

Victoria magazine Oct. 1990

had this wonderful article on bookplates..

Decided I would spend more time in old bookstores to try to find some..

18 years go by .....

I had trouble finding the time to go to Borders then, what was I thinking my kids were little...

I did take the time this morning to read the article again and it inspired me today as much as it did back then....
so bookplates go back on the list....

I enjoy going through my old magazines…
Have not made much progress as to throwing any out ..
I find them to be like a journal, a keeper of things I love….

This seems so familiar to me. I have magazines from the 80ties too and an archive with all kind of articles. Life is about 7 or 8 times too short. When do I make that dollhouse? Those dolls? Those roses in wax? Write that book or make a proper artjournal? Need I go on? Isn't there an Etsy time store? Have a great day!

I too have many older magazines. When I think I need to go through them to toss or donate, I actually spend some enjoyable hours remembering why I saved them to begin with!

It just goes to show that a good design is timeless! (most things from the 80s are not in that catagory!)

I have done the same thing - saved magazines, articles & books to "inspire" me later and then forgotten about them. When I eventually do get around to looking a them again, it's funny how I still love them! I guess my style hasn't really changed that much. I am still in love with beautiful things.

Thanks for visiting my blog and good luck in the give away!

I'm with you! It's so hard for me to throw out old ones! I keep all my issues of Home Companion and Victoria, as well as the Marie Claire Idees I got when we lived in France. They might as well be encyclopedias!
The others I can manage to part with (except for a few Country Livings) but don't get between me and my treasured ones!
Fun post!

How many things have I intended to make or do through the years. They're too numerous to count. I identify completely with this post. I love the pillow in the last picture.

Dear Bramble Rainbowshimmer,
What you've been doing, I've been doing too! You should make that apron.
It would suit the figure of a fairy to a Tee!

The apron is so pretty, and the bookplates too. I love my old Victoria's and read them all the time. The photos are so gorgeous and full of inspiration.

I enjoyed your lovely post!

I did order some bookplates and love them but they did not go far. I would have to order dozens of boxes of bookplates for all my books.

I have been tossing out my old magazines, going back to 1982! Good lord, 26 years. However, I am keeping my Victoria magazines and the Traditional Home magazines from before the time they switched the format and I didn't like/buy it any more.
